Initial consultations can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Please leave enough time in case your session takes this long. General therapy sessions will usually last 30-45 min.

Session Attendance

All sessions with the exception of CDM (bulk billed) clients can take place either in person or via Skype. Skype sessions are charged at the same rate and payment can be made via bank transfer after the session.

***Cancellations within 24 hours of the session start time shall incur a 50% non-attendance fee.***

EFTPOS, HICAPS (Medicare / private health insurance) and cash payments are accepted at Geelong Voice Therapy.

Invoices and receipts will be provided after each session.

All clinic sessions are to be paid for on the day at the end of the session.

Medicare Rebates

Unfortunately, the only rebates available under the MBS scheme for Speech Therapy is if you are on a CDM plan. As such all prices above are the actual cost to the client (not including private health rebates)

WorkSafe Rebates

Geelong Voice Therapy is registered with WorkSafe and can provide therapy for work cover claims. Depending on the insurer and the claim, most if not all of the session fees are covered by WorkSafe’s limits. Please note that client payment on the day is preferred, with personal reimbursement from your employer/insurance taking place after lodging the invoices provided.

Concession Rates

Any person holding a low income, pension or disability card will be charged at the concession rate

Private Health Care

Many private health plans offer at least a partial refund towards the cost of Speech Therapy sessions. However, as each plan varies it is advisable to contact your insurance company and ask them what they offer. For a list of health care providers covered under the HICAPS system click HERE.

Chronic Disease Management (CDM)

The Chronic Disease Management (formerly Enhanced Primary Care or EPC) plan allows ‘A person who has a chronic or terminal medical condition’ to attend 5 sessions with an allied health professional per calendar year. For people with an ongoing voice disorder (such as frequent voice loss/change) or whose current voice causes significant social/emotional distress (i.e. disparity between voice and appearance or gender), a CDM plan may be created by your G.P

If you are unsure of your eligibility for a CDM plan, please feel free to call me on 0406 918 766 or talk to your G.P

PLEASE NOTE: A CDM plan and general referral to a Speech Pathologist (in the plan) must be put in place by your G.P before a bulk billed session can be booked.
